In the same way we grow physically, socially, and emotionally, so too does our spiritual life follow a developmental arc. All through the Bible our spiritual growth is demonstrated metaphorically through the a natural process very near to our humanity - gardening. This series of devotionals identifies some of these metaphors and how they relate to our everyday lives, no matter where you are in your spiritual journey. Many thanks to Villa Rica First United Methodist Church At the Garden for allowing me to share these in our monthly newsletter.
In Maslow's hierarchy of needs, just above physiological security and physical safety, is the need to feel love and belonging. If you do not feel loved, it is very difficult to accomplish anything beyond mere survival. But sometimes our relationships with others let us down. But do not let that be a barrier to knowing you are loved. Let your life be evidence that you have worth and purpose. Print the affirmation card here as a pocket reminder that you belong here for a reason.
